Our Environmental Policy

FSCCornflower recognises that, as a manufacturing company, we have an impact on the environment. We strive to be a market leader in both managing and reducing these impacts, especially through our approach to sourcing.

As a member of an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified scheme (CU-COC-807273), we are committed to sourcing paper and board used in the manufacture of our products from certified responsibly managed forests. Compliance with this is subject to regular audit by the FSC accredited body.

Wherever possible, packaging used is either recycled, biodegradable, compostable or a combination of these.

All our waste is sorted and the vast majority is sent for recycling.

Most external communication, such as quotes and invoices are emailed wherever possible and we strive to limit our paper use within the office.

We take steps to reduce the carbon emissions from transport of our products by grouping shipments as much as possible. Key suppliers sending goods into us are asked to do likewise and, wherever we can, we source supplies from UK manufacturers to reduce global transport carbon emissions.

Our on-demand print production reduces wasteful over-runs and wherever possible with litho printing, we use vegetable-based inks which are much less harmful to the environment than solvent-based inks.

We recognise that environmental leadership is a commitment that is ongoing. We continually check our processes, and if we find there is a way to reduce our environmental and social impact, we will strive to do so.
